leisure job

I work in the fever outpatient department with an elderly doctor who is over seventy. It is a very leisure department. Not many patients come here. What I should do is check their temperature if they have a fever. Most of the time I have nothing to do. I take an english book "chicken soup for nurse's soul" to there. I don't want to waste my time just sitting there doing nothing. But our director nurse said we couldn't read other books except professional books. So I have to be alert. I will hide my book as quickly as I could when she come by.
